Flew 4 missions on D-Day, 3 days later hit diving at a troop train (won Purple Heart). Battle of the Bulge.
Post war: Joined 27th Fighter Wing in SAC to escort B-36s. Flew in 2 high flights ferrying F-84s to Europe. After approx. 50 missions was base commander at Kunsan Air Base, Korea.
