Assigned to 713BS, 448BG, 8AF USAAF. Didn't have a regular crew assigned to him, he volunteered for as many flights as possible, flying two missions in a day on one occasion. Flew 15 x missions as co-pilot and 15 x missions as pilot all in 13 different aircraft. First pilot in group to complete 30 x missions. ETD

Awards: AM (3OLC), DFC., American campaign, EAME (3BS), WWII Victory.

 

Post war: He remained active in the USAF reserves for 25 years retiring with the rank of Lt Colonel. Instrumental in starting the group reunions and having the air tower in Seething restored. It is now a museum.
