James E Jennings
Military ROLL OF HONOURShot down 26 July 1943 in B-17 #42-30282. Plane crashed into North Sea. He was wounded in the right arm (the report also said that he had been hit in the chest) and he was injured prior to this by machine gun fire, he was hit and killed by a 20 mm shell while coming through the hatchway from the navigators’ compartment to the pilot’s compartment. McCaffery, 2nd Lt., Navigator was directly behind Lt. Jennings at the time of death. Remains not found.
