Billy Huish was Navigator on B-17 "Skunkface"#42-29656 of the 91st Bomb Group / 322nd Bomb Squadron, shot down by enemy fighters on 20 February 1944 over Belgium. Missing Air Crew Report - MACR 2460. Initially evaded with the help of Belgians, the Maquis Group he was hiding with in Rièzes was denounced by a Belgian traitor. Huish, 7 other American airmen and two Belgian underground members were captured by the Germans. The Belgians were sent to camps in Germany and died in deportation. Billy Huish and the seven other Americans were shot in cold-blood by German troops at Saint-Rémy, near Chimay, Belgium on 22 April 1944.
