Revisions
The photograph was taken during OTU graduation in July, 1943. The names were added by JKW or his wife, Alice, at a later date.
I, Steve E. Wenzel, am the author of the book: AIRBORNE ANGEL James K. Wenzel in WWII (Wenzel 2020). The copy righted story is based on my parents life many interviews, and considerable research done in federal military records.
This photograph (Document #48017) was taken by the USAAF Combat Training Group in mid-1944 at Casper, Wyoming as the Crew completed B-24 combat training. The photograph was in the possession of Captain James K. Wenzel and his wife, Alice, at the time of his death in 1995. The names of the other Crew members were added after the War by Captain Wenzel. His children share the photograph today and I, Steve E. Wenzel (NOK), his son, scanned and uploaded the photograph to this site.
NOK: Steve Wenzel, son (James K. Wenzel) I can be contacted [email protected] for further information.
