Last sighted near Norden, Germany, with engine #2 on fire. Crashed in a field near the farm of Hendericus Warendorp Torringa, Zuurdijksestraat in Warfhuizen, 25km NW of Groningen, Noord Holland, The Netherlands. Pilot: Forrest V. Poore; Co-pilot: John R. Ward; Navigator: Linn G. Stuckenbruck; Bombardier: William A. Nicholls; Engineer/Top Turret Gunner: Alva M. Woodall (landed in the Reitdiep Canal, near Leens, Northwest of Groningen, The Netherlands and drowned-Killed In Action); Radio Operator: Paul L. Balogh; Ball turret gunner: Harold L. Morris (Killed In Action); Left Waist gunner: William A. Kelly; Right Waist gunner: John D O’Connell Jr; Tail gunner: James Capillos. 2 KIA / 8 Prisoners of War (POW).
