On returning from a mission over Eisenach, Germany, on 20 Jul 1944, the A/C encountered much air turbulence and used up most of its fuel. Upon landing, the nose wheel refused to descend. CPT Evans managed to land the ship with insignificant or no damage.

Transferred to from the 492nd BG to the 458th BG, 752rd BS. Modified as an AZON plane, retained the name "Breezy Lady" painted on port side; "Superman" was later added to the starboard side. Later the "Breezy Lady" side was renamed "Marie". Successfully landed in England when the nose wheel refused to descend on 20 Jul1944. Returned to the USA in 1945.
