Delivered Cheyenne 5/3/44; Kearney 22/3/44; Dow Field 4 March 1944; Assigned 410BS/94BG [GL-R] Rougham 6 April 1944. Nicknamed "FILTHY HAG". Was hit by Flak at an altitude of 23,000 feet on the 22 April 1944 mission to Hamm, Germany. It caught fire, 2 engines on the same side were knocked out and the communications system destroyed. David Blodgett, Right Waist Gunner Frank G. Scorsune and Radio Operator Carl J. Eckhart bailed out of the burning plane. The aircraft was flown back to England by the pilot, Lt Frank A. Bartos and the three men were made prisoner.Missing Air Crew Report - MACR 4162.

Harney Jr; Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Morris E. Holt; Radio Operator: James L. Flanagan; Ball turret gunner: James W. Lewis; Left Waist gunner: Byron K. Long; Right Waist gunner: Russell L. Lindenbaum; Tail gunner: Michael L. Rodman (10 Interned in Switzerland) - Mechanical fault KO’d engines #2 and #3; aircraft force landed Dubendorf, Switzerland. Missing Air Crew Report - MACR 7510. Returned to the USA 1103 BU Morrison 7 October 1945; Reconstruction Finance Corporation (sold for scrap metal in USA) Walnut Ridge 14 January 1946. Had been renamed "GLORIA".
