- 5 January 1944: The remains of B-17F serial 42-30767 (coded GY-Y) of thr 367th Bomb Sq, 306th BG, which crashed onto the grounds of the Sharnbrook ammunition depot shortly after takeoff. The pilot, Capt Ian Elliot, and seven others were killed. Copilot 2Lt Thomas Bridgeman and tail gunner Sgt William Winans survived.
