This aircraft is the first assigned to 1st Lt. Dean Strain and his original crew at the U.S. Air Force Base at Pueblo, CO.  On 21 April 1944 the 491st Bomb Group received special orders to begin transfer to  the airfield at Herington, KS for purpose of staging and processing for deployment.
