On the 21st of June 1944 this aircraft was shot down by Germans during bombing raid over Berlin and crashed into Stolsko Lake near Szczecin (Stettin).

Remnants recovered in July - August 1989 by the members of 5th International Divers' Expedition under patronage of ZHP (Polish Scouts' Association).

Crashed in lake near Castle Stolzenburg, Politz, 14 miles NW of Stettin, Germany; Missing Air Crew Report 5980.
