I am the son-in-law of John M. Kendrick, B-24 pilot with the 389 Bomb Group. Sadly, I never knew the man but began researching his military career in the 1990's so that my children could understand more about who their grandfather was. John Kendrick died when my wife was only seven and she nor her family knew much about her Dad's military service. Fortunately I was able to communicate with many men that had served with him including most of his B-24 crew members and some of their families. I currently live in Bloomington, Indiana. I am very impressed with the effort the Imperial War Museum has put into this website. Having the ability to plug into the massive web of context of the war effort that is represented by so many varying resources from WW II provides such a rich experience beyond a single soldier's wartime narrative.
