Born in 1948. I am the son of Joseph m roche, 8th Air Force, 305th Group, 422nd Squadron. He flew 25 missions as tail gunner on the B-17 Mama Chung. He was shot down and captured on 25 June, 1943 and spent the duration of the war in Stalag 17b near Krems, Austria which I visited in 2013.
