I am researching my dad's war records when he served in the ETO with the USAAF.
My dad, Robert T. Harris was a B-26 Marauder pilot in WWII. He served with the 386th "Crusaders" Bomb Group in the 553rd Bomb Squadron. He flew missions out of Boxsted, Great Dunmow, and Great Sailing, (Andrews Field) in England until his group moved to Beaumont Sur-Oise (AAF-60) in France after the invasion. He was shot down over Germany on his 58th mission, was captured and spent the last seven months of the war as a POW at Stalagluft 1 near Barth, Germany.
