Object Number - FRE 7227 - An F-6D Mustang (B3-R, serial number 44-14200) of the 161st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Group.

Constituted as the 381st Fighter Squadron and activated in March, 1943.

Assigned to the 363d Fighter Group on March 1, 1943. (This unit was later redesignated as the 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Group.)

Redesignated as the 161st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron on August 25, 1944.
