Taunton

Military site

To the west of Silk Mills Lane the agricultural land was levelled to build the largest supply depot in SW England for the Royal Army Service Corps. With its good rail network it was an ideal location for US Supply Division detachments.

The site has since been cleared to make way for an industrial complex and Business Park plus a new housing estate. The Somerset Heritage Centre is built on one of the old railway sidings.

Exact location unknown.
