Object Number - FRE 5812 - A B-24 Liberator (serial number 41-23711) nicknamed "Jerk's Natural" of the 93rd Bomb Group at RAF Gambut, February 1943.

Gambut was constructed and used by the Regia Aeronautica in 1939. It was captured by Axis forces in June 1941, and used as a Luftwaffe base until it was taken by the New Zealand Infantry Brigade in November 1941. It was designated RAF Gambut, and remained in RAF use until late 1944, though a number of USAAF units undertook brief detachments to the base over the winter of 1942-1943.
