Military site : airfield

Temporary advanced landing ground built by 826th Engineer Battalion, IX Engineer Command in early 1945. The airfield formally opened on 24 March 1945 and was occupied shortly after by P-47 Thunderbolts of the 48th and 404th Fighter Groups.
