Detailed History

Thriplow is a village close to Duxford and Fowlmere aifields. The pub the "Green Man" was frequented by Americans from both bases and nearby Thriplow House was used as a hospital during the Second World War.

The hamlet of Heathfield, which is part of Thriplow Parish, is on the base footprint of Duxford air base. Many of the existing houses and roads are former military buildings.
