Detailed History

At the bottom of the village war memorial, there is a separate stone, commemorating 4 crashes in Hilgay Parish. One of those was 44-6816 (the number is wrong on the stone) a USAAF plane that crashed at Poplar Farm, 30 March 1945. (Date is wrong on the stone.)
