31-Dec-43 returned from mission to Bordeaux in B-17 41-24484 "The Bad Egg". Because of the severe damage to the plane, as it touched down on the runway, it ploughed into the jeep. RTD. H. Evers crew
Crew abandoned B-17 42-97125 on 22-Mar-44 after battle damage on a mission to Berlin. A/C crashed West of Berlin. Prisoner of War (POW).
Awards: AM (OLC), POW, EAME (1BS), WWII Victory.
Post war: Served in Korea as an infantry officer, killed in action, posthumously awarded the DSC.
