Shot down 16 September 1943 in B-17 42-5849 'Hell's Belles II. ' Prisoner of War (POW). Wrote an account of trip to France in September 1999 to attend the dedication of monument to the crash of ' Hell's Belles II' and the three men who lost their lives in it. [Document attached to database form. ]
