Herbert A Grand – 418th Squadron, 100th Bomb Group 
Herb was the Radio Operator/Gunner on the Jim Seamans crew. Seamans Demons served as a Lead Crew and on one mission led the whole 3rd Air Division. Herb shipped out of New York to England on his 21st birthday. Herb was assigned to the 100th on July 4, 1944 and completed 29 missions. His first mission was on July 18, 1944 over Kiel and Hemmingstedt. The 29th mission over Hamm on November 26, 1944 turned out to be Herb’s last mission. The plane was hit by enemy gunfire; however, the crew was able to make it back across enemy lines and landed safely in friendly territory. 

Awards: AM (3OLC), GC, WWII Victory, EAME (4 x Battle Stars).
