Las Vegas, NV 5 May 2005 Harvey Charles Esty was born December 25, 1920 in Hawkins, Wisconsin. He passed away May 5, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Harvey was a retired U.S. Air Force Pilot (Captain) who served during the Korean War, and WWII where he was shot down over Germany and held as a POW for 17 months. He continued to serve his country his entire career, retiring in 1971. He is survived by his two sons, Charles V. Esty and Patrick C. Esty and two daughters, Janet McIvor and Jane Limback, RMT. Harvey was the proud grandfather of 2 granddaughters, Michelle Mashburn (Rick) and Andrea Scott, and 3 grandsons, Christopher & Zachary Scott and Eric Esty, as well as 3 great-grand-daughters, Kayla Scott and Alyssa & Hailey Mashburn. Harvey was preceded in death by his oldest grandson, Christopher Scott,23, in 2002. Even after his death, Harvey continued to be of service to his country. Harvey's body was donated to the University of Nevada to further study the effects of his imprisonment and mistreatment by the Germans while he was held captive. His cremated remains rest in honor at Union Grove Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
