Flew on 'KLAPTRAP' part of McClatchy Crew, After completing 30 missions, stayed at 8HQ Signal Corps. to work on use of Radio in combat. Volunteered for more raids to work with the special radio equipment just prior to accident which occurred while flying from 8th HQ to Bovingdon with 2nd Lt. Mary E. Chubb. Lt. Chubb served with the 181st Medical Dispensary (Aviation) the AT-6 41-34655 lost left wing and tail assembly. Pilot bailed out at about 500 ft, without parachute. Body of Chubb still in plane.
