Shot down 13 May 1944 in B-17G 42-102548. While the formation was under attack from enemy aircraft, the plane left formation, dove directly down and disappeared through undercast; crashed near Zarnekla (7.5 miles South of Grimmen) Germany. MACR 4814.
Killed in Action (KIA).
