He was held in a political prison in 'Neu Ulm' until the 44th US Infantry released it. Then the infantry removed the men to their temp. base for transport out. In the field Harold spotted some transport planes. He saw that the markings were the same unit that his brother was a pilot on. He went over and asked if Lt. Coutts was there and he was. About this time his brother came out of one of the planes. His brother had not been aware that Harold had been taken prisoner.
