'An incident that occurred in 1944. There was an explosion in the bomb dump. A storage area containing 38 one hundred lb. bombs containing long delay booby trap fuses went up. However all of the bombs did not explode. The result was closing down the bomb dump and putting the 306th out of operation. We were orderd to get rid of them, which could explode any second. Since I was trained in bomb disposal and along with other personnel, we cleared and destroyed the bombs where they sat, putting the 306th back in service. '
