May 17, 1943, in B26 41-18099 'Lorraine' on mission to a power station in Holland went down in the sea after being shot down by fighters off the enemy coast. According to Losses, Williams and crew mate TG Jesse Lewis were the only crew to return from the 322nd BG on this mission after surviving 5 days at sea.
