George B Wilkinson

Took part in Operation Tidal Wave, the raid on Ploesti on 1 August 1943, as an extra Co-Pilot on board B-24 Liberator (serial number 41-23729). Aborted over Mediterranean due to No. 4 engine failure.

Wilkinson was killed in Action on B-24 (serial number 41-23711) 'Jerks Natural'. The aircraft was damaged over Austria on mission to Wiener Neustadt Bf 109 factory and crashed in Yugoslavia on 1 October 1943. MACR 3301.
