Frank P Bostrom

Bostrom was famous for flying General Douglas MacArthur from the Philippines to Australia in early 1942. He commanded Alamogordo Army Air Base from November 1943 until April 1944, and later commanded the 490th Bomb Group in England
He was the pilot of B-17E/41-2416 on 7 December 1941 and landed his ship at Kahuku Golf Course, Hawaii. His crew consisted of 2d Lt Wilson L. Cook, 2d Lt Earl Sheggrud, Aviation Cadet Rob R. Carruthers, TSgt Herbert B. Collins, SSgt Leslie O. Hansen, PFC Herbert Wheatley Jr., PFC Elwood B. Shouldis, PFC Clyde L. Horn.
