M/Sgt. Curran was inducted in June of 1942, and immediately sent to Miami Beach for his three weeks of Basic Training. While in training, he was classified as an armorer, and went from Miami to Buckley Field, Colorado for the three month course in Armament. After being shipped to various fields, Sgt. Curran went to Ephreta, Washington, where he joined the 447the Bombardment Group and 710th Bombardment Squadron. Sgt. Curran went to Orlando to the AAFSAT School or applied tactics, and he was classified as an armament chief.
