Floyd Hartman was Navigator on board B-17#42-39791 "Fletcher's Castoria" which crashed on take-off on a non-operational flight 3 December 1943, with Pilot Martin Tashjian. He and the 8 other men on board Returned To Duty (RTD).

He was Navigator on B-17 Buffalo Gal #42-31537, shot down by fighters and crashed near Punschrau, Germany on 29 July 1944. Prisoner of War (POW)
