26 February 1943 B-24 41-23734 'Night Raider' crashed landed on return to Britain with 3 crew members wounded in action. Dawley was wounded as he was unconscious. The landing was at RAF Ludham, Norfolk. All crew members were returned to action and plane was salvagable. Losses spells name as 'Dawky'.



Took part in Operation Tidal Wave, the raid on Ploesti on 1 August 1943, flying B-24 Liberator 41-24215.
