Manchester, CT, USA | 6 September 2007 | FRAHER, Edward J. Edward J. Fraher, 84, of Manchester, loving husband of Lea "Rita" (Pouliot) Fraher, passed away Thursday (September 6, 2007) at home. He was born December 16, 1922, in Manchester, was a graduate of Manchester High School and had been a lifelong resident. Mr. Fraher was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force as an aerial gunner. He was employed for over 37 years with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft until retiring in 1982 as a General Manager. Mr. Fraher was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Church in Manchester and a member of the Army & Navy Club and VFW. He was an avid golfer. Besides his wife Rita, he leaves two daughters, Lori A. Granato and Linda F. Guard both of Hebron; three grandchildren, Michael J. Granato, Meaghan E. Guard and Molly A. Guard, all of Hebron; two sons-in-law, Michael D. Granato of Hebron and John A. Guard of Manchester; and two close friends, Gifty Owusu and Jane Bentil. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 10, at 11 a.m. in St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Road, Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457. Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester, has care of the arrangements.
