Shot down by fighters and crashed SSW of Erkner on a mission (#76) to the ball bearing plant at Erkner-Berlin on 6 Mar 1944 in B-17G #42-31553 "Myer's Flaw". Killed in Action (KIA)/ MIA. Member of the Rayburn Crew on mission with Haushalter Crew. MACR #3241. His name is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing at Netherlands American Cemetery.
