Alfred Fontes

Military

Lt. Alfred Fontes was shot down on or about April 8, 1944 and he was liberated May 1, 1945. He was a POW during WWII for thirteen months at Stalagluft #1prisoner-of-war camp near Barth, Western Pomerania, Germany. Mr. Fontes retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 88.
