Captain Earl O Widen, Chaplain, 389th Bomb Group. This photo hangs in Fairland United Reformed Church, Wymondham
Captain Widen died of a heart attack while serving at Hethel as Chaplain. As well as serving as the Protestant chaplain on the base, he ministered to the congregation at Fairland United Reformed Church in Wymondham, where is is very fondly remembered.
