Dominic P. Mainieri served as a bombardier with the 448th Bomb Group. He was part of one of the original crews of the group. The first aircraft he was assigned to was the B-24H, 41-29191, which was piloted by 2nd Lt. Jack Parker



His family remember him with these words:

'Not only was he a veteran, but an amazing husband, father, uncle, brother, and son. He came out of abject poverty and secured a military career, University education, and had a successful marriage and family life.'



'He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia U.S. To Google him, find your site and his name brought us all to tears with pride and sadness that he is no longer here to enlighten our lives.'
