David Ziff served as a ball turret gunner with the 93rd Bomb Grp, 330th Bomb Sqn. On 25-Feb-44, he was flying in B-24 42-100323 when it was shot down by flak and fighters over Karlsruhe and crashed SE of Pirmasens, Germany on a mission to Furth, Germany. Ziff was taken as a Prisoner of War (POW).



Awards: AM (OLC), PH, POW, WWII Victory, EAME (1 x Battle star).

Correspondence with Claire Ziff: 'I am the granddaughter of David B Ziff, a military officer recorded on your website.
I noticed under his awards section, it says "not known". After his camp was liberated and he returned to the US, he was awarded a Purple Heart, as well as a Bronze Star.'
