Assigned to 334BS, 95BG, 8AF USAAF. Daniel J Mangan flew 27 missions as co-pilot with the 95th Bomb Group's "James Hagenbaugh" crew. He was piloting B-17 42-38123 'To Hell Or Glory' on his 29th mission. The aircraft suffered an in-flight fire, and crashed at Outer, Belgium on 23 June 1944. Mangan and Flight engineer Huff died after departing the aircraft, attempting a "double" parachute jump. Killed in Action (KIA). MACR 5915

1Lt. "Danny" Mangan was Pilot in command of "To Hell or Glory" when the aircraft suffered an onboard fire, forcing the crew to evacuate. 5 crew evaded capture, 3 were POW's. Mangan and Huff died after departing the aircraft, attempting a "double" parachute jump.
