On mission to Oschersleben on 11 Jan 1944 in B-17F #42-29524 'Meathound', crew was ordered to bail out but pilot managed to fly damaged a/c back to England and landed at Metfield. Evaded (EVD). Arrived back in the UK on 05/25/1944.
