Charles David Carr
MilitaryChuck Carr was assigned to 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, from October 10, 1943-April 5, 1944. He was promoted to First Lieutenant on January 12, 1944. On April 5 his P-51B (43-6837) was hit by heavy flak while he was strafing JU-88’s on Gardelegen Airdrome. Carr pulled up to a safe height where he bailed out near Brandenburg, Germany. He subsequently became a POW at Luft Stalag Luft I. At the war's end he was credited with 1 confirmed ground kill.
