After his discharge in 1945 Floyd worked initially for Chevrolet in Youngstown, Ohio then re-enlisted in the Air Force. He served in Korea in 1951 and was later senior instructor at Amarillo. He finally retired from the Air Force in 1966 after 21 years' service.
