When he arrived at Seething the patch on his uniform was for the 21st Chemical Company.
As time went on his patch was changed to the AAF patch but his collar insignia was still Chemical Warfare. Then his patch changed to the 8th AAF and his collar insignia changed to the Air force insignia.
