George registered for the WW II draft on 16 October 1940. He was 5', 10 ½ "; weighed 154 pounds; had brown hair and eyes and a 'light brown complexion'.

George entered the service on 12 January 1942 from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He enlisted as a Private in the Air Corps. He had four years of high school education, was Single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Embalmers and undertakers."

We have orders that show George participated in two resupply and Air evacuation missions; one in late June 1944 and one in late August 1944.
