Military
Allen Boyd Andrews registered for the draft on 13 February 1942 when he was 20 years old. He was 5' 7 1/2" tall, weighed 140 pounds, had brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. His employer was listed as the West Penn Power Company in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. He entered the service on 28 July 1942 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He enlisted as a Private. He had four years of high school, was single, with dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Semiskilled linemen and servicemen, telegraph, telephone, and power."
He was listed in Frank Guild's book: 'Journey to the Far Shore' as a member of the 84th TCS in 1945. He was also listed in the 437th TCG Association Rosters from 1972 through 1988.
