On 01 November 1942 Frank entered the service from Camp Dodge, Herrold, Iowa as a Private in the Air Corps. He had four years of high school education, was single, without dependents and his civilian occupation was listed as: "Farm managers and foremen".

He was a member of the 437th TCG Association for many years and attended several of their reunions. Frank was married in 1947, and he and his wife had six children. He is buried in the Portland Cemetery, Burt, Iowa.
