55022 Montefegatesi LU, Italy 5 February 1945 Engine trouble caused thepilot to not be able to maintain altitude. Hackett radioed "when do you want us to jump?" The pilot replied ' Go right now!" The plane was wobbling and appeared to be nearly out of control. Hackett was able to successfully return to duty. The pilot was KIA.
