KIA on a bombing mission to destroy the Eller RR Bridge on the Mosel River during the Battle of the Bulge, Lt. Wm. "Billy" P. Cook's B-26 Marauder #43-34430 named Hunconscious was hit by flak shortly after crossing their initial point (IP). The aircraft impacted the ground on a farm near Allmuthen, Liege, Belgium.All six crewmen on board perished and remained missing in action until November 2006. Their remains were finally identified and returned to their families in 2012.
